Our Managing Director

James Howlin is a Chartered Accountant, tax specialist, business advisor and company director with over a decade of experience in Public Practice and two decades of working in and providing advice to small and medium businesses.

A tax specialist, James joined a leading tax discussion group on his first day in the accounting profession and the knowledge and relationships from this group continue to add value to his clients today.

As a company director, and member of the Institute of Company Directors, James understands the responsibilities of directors and their dual compliance and performance roles.

In late 2014 James moved to the Gold Coast to reduce commuting times and see more of his young family, and subsequently established Cake Accounting to bring his high level of tax knowledge to micro and small businesses on the Coast.

To further develop his tax skills, James is currently undertaking the Graduate Diploma of Applied Tax Law from the Tax Institute.
